The approach

Structured Collaboration

A practical way to help people in a complex organisation work together well, by design rather than by chance.

In brief

Most organisations are managed vertically, but the work flows horizontally, across teams and functions, and that’s where it tends to stall. Structured Collaboration starts from the will to collaborate. It then adds what goodwill can’t supply on its own: structures that bring the right people together at the right time, and clear agreements about how their work connects.

It works at three levels: senior teams making connected decisions together (Concurrent Management), teams agreeing how they depend on each other, and a shared picture of how the whole business works.
