Traditional Management Worked—But Now It Needs an Upgrade

Since the 18th century, traditional management practices have shaped how organisations are structured and run. Emerging alongside the Industrial Revolution, these approaches were built on hierarchy, functional silos, and the division of labour. They enabled organisations to scale efficiently, replicate success, and maintain control in a world where problems were largely predictable and solutions could be engineered in advance.
